Job Summary:

Leads healthcare technology strategy and planning for inpatient/outpatient healthcare delivery through providing oversight on the identification and application of assessments, needs, and site planning, as well as implementing systems and through investment analyses. Drives teams to lead conversations and influences clinical systems deployment and collaborates on incident investigations as needed. Provides healthcare technology expertise for testing clinical systems and equipment, resolving highly complex issues, and documenting overall process. Leads innovative planning for healthcare technology research and assesses new healthcare-related technologies across the market and with consideration for broader integration. Leads team to coordinate with stakeholders for compliance/regulatory requirements across organizational lines through to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met. Develops, analyzes, and manages technology plans through overseeing strategy through a variety of program management methodologies within a market.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works with leaders and employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; hires, trains, and develops talent for growth opportunities; strategically evaluates talent for succession planning; sets performance management guidelines and expectations across teams / units. Oversees implementation, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices, processes, and industry trends; shares best practices within and across teams. Fosters open dialogue amongst team members, engages, motivates, and promotes collaboration within and across teams; motivates teams to meet business objectives. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance and scope; encourages development and consideration of options in decision making; fosters access to stakeholders.

  • Manages designated units or teams by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed; partners with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure products and/or services meet requirements and expectations while aligning with departmental strategies. Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; assumes responsibility for decision making; fosters direct reports to resolve escalated issues as appropriate. Communicates goals and objectives; incorporates resources, costs, and forecasts into team and unit plans; ensures matrixed resources are fulfilling service or performance requirements across reporting lines. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences teams and units to operate in alignment with operational and business objectives.

  • Leads clinical systems by: driving teams to lead conversations and influencing user groups and strategic partners to align on equipment configurations, review facility construction plans and equipment lists, and provide technical or environment requirements for deployment of complex or large-scale projects for the market; and leading teams to collaborate on standard to complex incident investigations and equipment performance analysis on complex problems to determine root causes of issues, develop solutions, and promote preventative measures to ensure a safe environment.

  • Addresses compliance and needed corrections by: leading team to coordinate with stakeholders across organizational lines to ensure systems and processes are used and maintained in a manner that ensures compliance with all relevant government regulations, accreditation, and industry standards; impacting planning objectives and strategies for consistent standards and excellent service with limited direction within a market to support the service, quality, access, and efficiency goals while meeting all compliance and regulatory requirements; and leveraging expertise to provide sufficient level of detail for technical, financial, environmental, operational, regulatory/legal, and maintenance/support aspects to be defined, scoped, and understood by the project management teams who will execute against these plans to ensure that technology integration plans achieve objectives.

  • Directs technical expertise for clinical systems by: overseeing and providing guidance on technical testing on a variety of clinical systems and associated equipment and technology; overseeing and providing expert guidance to the team to identify, monitor, and resolve standard to highly complex issues related to healthcare technologies and technologies that present a risk to the enterprise; overseeing the execution of a comprehensive maintenance program, through managing the management, documentation, and maintenance of all relevant records for healthcare technology systems and equipment; resolving highly-complex technical expertise and consulting for operational impacts on a wide range of complex issues using innovative logic, coaching teams within the market using industry best practices, and driving projects in alignment with organizational objectives; and supporting the creation of new cyber security processes and protocols that impact the industry in healthcare through overseeing and providing input for the team and ensuring implementation within and the enterprise and collaboration across the industry in accordance with industry and company standards for healthcare technology.

  • Leads strategies for clinical systems by: providing oversight on the identification and application of healthcare technology assessments, needs analysis, and site planning performed by the teams to identify and recommend appropriate healthcare technologies for planning and implementation; ensuring teams have the resources needed to appropriately assess, design, and implement standard to complex systems that enhance networking, integration, and interoperability capabilities of healthcare technologies for the market; driving the application of innovative strategies while providing support for the team conducting standard complex cost-benefit analyses; and consulting with and beginning to educate senior leaders to gain buy-in and alignment in support of the development and production of healthcare technology forecasts, procurement programs, and service contracts for multiple care delivery settings and for the market.

  • Leads innovative planning related to healthcare technologies by: leading teams to research and assess new health care-related technologies, strategies and concepts, disseminating this information as appropriate across the market and integrating them/updating healthcare technology program processes and aligning with the broader healthcare technology program; and overseeing broad teams to conduct research to stay abreast of cutting-edge technology, future roadmaps, and industry trends around products and services, and coordinating technology pilots (e.g., attending conferences or tradeshows, vendor product events).

  • Develops, analyzes, and manages technology plans by: overseeing development and execution of strategy and scope identification, managing schedules, evaluating inter-dependencies, and resource forecasting for a clinical portfolio within a market; and establishing expectations for teams program performance (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope, and with quality) against plan, ensuring measurement of business benefits and outcomes, and making adjustments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) year of experience managing operational or project budgets.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Biomedical, Clinical, Mechanical, Electrical), engineering technology, or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in engineering or a directly related field OR Minimum eight (8) years of experience in engineering or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Three (3) years of experience in health care.
