Job Summary:

Provides ongoing periodic assessment of patients and their families needs and progress and adjusts treatment plans as needed, with direct oversight. Conducts standard assessments of patients well-being to determine the most appropriate treatment plan and establishes treatment goals and objectives for patients, with guidance. Administers treatment by using working knowledge of therapeutic techniques to provide therapy services through all phases of care, taking into consideration age and developmental needs and educates and instructs the patient, patients family, and/or staff on therapy services as well as observing and identifying changes in patients behavior or condition to adapt treatment, with guidance. Collaborates with inter/intraorganizational healthcare professionals to provide services to patients and their families and notifies the patients Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) of significant changes in the patients condition according to agency policy. Maintains patient records and documentation for all care, interventions, and/or care coordination provided in accordance with laws, regulations, agency policies, and departmental and organizational policies, with supervision. Maintains patient confidentiality by following related laws and regulations (e.g., Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

  • Provides ongoing assessment by: using working knowledge to provide ongoing periodic assessment of the patient and their familys needs and progress; and adjusting treatment plans as needed based on ongoing assessment, with direct oversight.

  • Ensures stakeholder alignment by: collaborating with healthcare professionals that are within ones immediate group to provide services to patients and their families; and notifying the patients Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) of significant changes in the patients condition according to agency policy.

  • Contributes to policy compliance by: maintaining patient records and documentation of all care, interventions and care coordination per law, regulation, and agency policy, with supervision; and adhering to departmental and organizational policies as well as maintaining patient confidentiality by following related laws and regulations (e.g., Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

  • Administers treatment by: using working knowledge of therapeutic techniques to provide therapy services through all phases of care, taking into consideration age and developmental needs; uses standard strategies to educate and instruct the patient, patients family, and/or staff on therapy services, as required; and observing and identifying changes in patients behavior or condition to adapt treatment, with guidance.

  • Contributes to treatment development by: conducting standard assessments of patients well-being to determine the most appropriate treatment plan; and establishing treatments and objectives for patients and making necessary revisions per agency policy, with detailed instructions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Psychology, Human Development, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Art, Music, or Play Therapy, or a directly related field OR Minimum three (3) years of experience in art, music, or play therapy or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Professional Counselor, or Professional Therapist license (in state where care is provided).
  • Provisional Registered Art Therapist, Registered Art Therapist, Board Certified Art Therapist, or Art Therapy Certified Supervisor certification by the American Art Therapy Association.
