Regional Offices Mailroom Clerk
Essential Functions:
· Receives all incoming materials daily. (U.S. mail, and other
outside carriers/couriers).
· Sorts and delivers all materials received daily.
· Pick up and accurately sort & deliver inter-office mail and boxes as scheduled.
· Operate postage meter machines with postage accounting and prepare outgoing US mail per USPS regulations.
· Research and resolve problems related to receiving and distribution of U.S. mail, and other carriers/couriers as well as assist with incoming calls from vendors and end users.
· Verify counts of mail from USPS, maintaining accurate records and enter information onto spread sheets.
· Calculate total postage on batched mail as necessary.
· Scan all certified mail from USPS and obtain signature releases from recipient.
· Prepare outgoing interoffice mail in bags and boxes and stage on appropriate pallet for pick up by drivers.
Grade 185
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Testing: Math
· At least six months previous work experience in shipping & receiving, mail distribution, or warehouse environment.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
· Must have material handling equipment experience.
· Must demonstrate legible handwriting skills and arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
· Ability to work in a Labor Management Partnership.
· Must have customer service orientation.
· Basic understanding of spread sheet operations.
