Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, inventories and stocks par level locations and linen supply carts; issues linen; transports linen to/from the linen room area; assist with shipping and receiving linen supplies; maintains inventory records of linen issued; performs physical count of linen room inventories.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Unloads clean linen from hospital laundry trucks; delivers o linen room and stocks linen on shelves.

  • Loads linen on carts; delivers, stocks and cleans par level locations and linen supply carts.

  • Delivers and picks up personalized garments according to distribution schedule.

  • Assembles bed packs and linen packs for hospital and medical center departments and linen room area.

  • Operates company vehicle in compliance with established procedures and the law of the Motor Vehicle Code.

  • Transports linen supply carts between medical center departments and linen room area.

  • Verifies and records linen and garment count against established inventory supply level.

  • Assists with inventory of linen room supplies as required.  Responds to stat request for linen supplies as required.

  • Maintains work area in clean and orderly manner.

  • Collects garments and completes transmittal documents for shipment to vendor.

  • Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, Health Plan members and the public.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Must attach a current CQA driver record information sheet, obtained within the last month. During the two year period immediately preceding the data of application, must have during record which is free of incidents involving the applicants negligence. Also free of citations with forfeit for bail for driving while under the influence of drugs or reckless driving. Driving record must not reflect more then two moving violations during the same two-year period. License and driving record will verified.

  • Must be able to lift in excess of 60 pounds and move in excess of 300 pounds with material handling equipment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge of medical center linen and/or supply support procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory (TITLE 22) linen requirements and infection control methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a high paced, multifunctional work environment.
  • Math aptitude and demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift 60 lbs and move in excess of 300 lbs with material handling equipment.
