Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized eCommerce Website Manager to oversee the performance, health, and ongoing development of our online optical retail platform, which includes prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. This role is responsible for ensuring the site remains accurate, up to date, visually compelling, and operationally seamless. The ideal candidate thrives in a cross-functional environment, communicates exceptionally well, and brings a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

eCommerce Operations & Site Management

This manager level role is primarily responsible for managing a team in defining product strategy and vision, developing product roadmaps from ideation to launch, and making decisions on new products or enhancements to bring to market. This includes managing the development of product enhancements based on validated learnings, avoiding technical debt, managing product teams and diverse stakeholder groups across the organization throughout the product management life cycle, and collaborating with operations teams and market stakeholders to support product adoption. This role is also responsible for managing internal and external discovery for new and existing products, managing end-to-end prototyping and validation with end users, ensuring learnings are funneled to product roadmaps, ensuring the ongoing tracking of outcomes and key performance indicators, and managing product teams in the resolution of user problems.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manages designated work unit by translating business plans into tactical action items; ensuring all policies and procedures are followed; delegating tasks to meet goals and objectives; overseeing the completion of work assignments; aligning team efforts; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly.

  • Manages a team in defining product strategy and vision, and manages product roadmaps from ideation to launch by making decisions on new products or enhancements to bring to market; reviewing the evaluation of potential business process changes, system impacts, and flow concepts to determine the viability of implementing desired enhancements; ensuring the provision of an end-to-end holistic view of how specific business processes and internal system configurations impact the user experience; reviewing business cases for new products, improvements to existing products, and/or business ventures; defining, managing, and avoiding technical debt as appropriate; managing the development of product enhancements based on validated learnings; ensuring documentation clearly communicates customer/stakeholder needs to the product team; and working with team members to clarify features and requirements as necessary.
  • Manages the product team and diverse stakeholder groups across the organization throughout the product management life cycle by managing the resolution of inter-squad, cross-product and external dependencies, roadblocks and constraints; collaborating with operations teams and market stakeholders to support product adoption; managing the coordination of training efforts to build readiness for production support and operational readiness teams; leading feature demos for stakeholders; providing product expertise, peer training, and consultation as appropriate; ensuring adherence to enterprise compliance standards; and managing technology risks as appropriate.
  • Manages internal and external discovery for new and existing products as assigned by facilitating partnerships with stakeholders to identify business needs; reviewing recommended marketplace innovations; managing end-user prototyping and validation with support from UX design and research, engineering, and other stakeholders as appropriate; and ensuring learnings are funneled to the product roadmap.
  • Ensures the ongoing tracking of outcomes and key performance indicators by reviewing KPIs and performance metrics (e.g., speed, quality, etc.); reviewing key metrics and assessing KPI alignment; and managing the development and maintenance of ad hoc reports, status updates, and presentation decks for key stakeholders.
  • Manages a product team in the resolution of user problems by ensuring the work backlog is prioritized and balanced across new development, non-functional requirements, and technical work (e.g., maintenance, support, technical debt, etc.); and managing competitive and user research/testing and experimentation as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Social Science, or related field and minimum six (6) years experience in product management, project management, IT consulting, product development or support, business/system analysis, or a directly related field. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement. Advanced degrees may be substituted for a portion of the work experience requirements.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience working in product management, including product discovery and developing short-term and long-term product strategies.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working with agile teams, including familiarity with scrum ceremonies and agile best practices.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years experience in human centered design.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project/program management certification.
  • 3–5+ years of experience managing an eCommerce website, preferably in retail or consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce operations, product data management, and digital merchandising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, cross‑functional teams, and senior management.
  • Experience working with POS systems, inventory feeds, and product catalog management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
