Health Systems Science Educator Faculty - School of Medicine
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide content expertise within one or more of the four HSS domains, which include community and population health, health care and social systems, quality and safety, and inquiry.
- Develop, implement, manage, and continuously improve the HSS curriculum across various settings, including classroom, clinical, and community, while engaging in educational scholarly activities related to these efforts.
- Present in large group sessions, and facilitate in small to medium-group settings.
- Collaborate across the biomedical, clinical, and health systems science departments to integrate and reinforce concepts throughout the four-year curriculum.
- Identify opportunities to partner with health system and community leaders to enhance the HSS curriculum.
- Serve as a mentor to KPSOM students who choose HSS educational topics for their required scholarly projects.
- Additional teachings and scholarly duties, expectations, and resources will be individually developed based on evolving faculty interests and skills, as well as departmental priorities and needs.

- Experience with community and population health curriculum.
- Demonstrated educational experience in one or more of the following domains: community and population health, health care and social systems, patient safety, quality improvement, delivery system science, implementation science, inquiry, evidenced-based practice.
- Demonstrated experiences in leading curriculum design and development, student and course evaluation, and student assessment.
- Demonstrated experience with various teaching methodologies such as problem-based, team-based, case-based, technology-assisted, and flipped classrooms.
- Demonstrated outstanding teaching abilities and commitment to teaching.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity.
- Demonstrated strong collaboration and communication skills.
- May not concurrently hold a postdoctoral appointment or participate in a training program.
