Director, Training Delivery - Large Program Training Delivery
Leverages expert knowledge to manage the creation of training content for internal and external stakeholders using adult learning theory and other relevant guidelines. Directing the development of specialized system content and training materials. Maintains effective communication with other leaders, both internal and external to the company. Directing the accuracy, comprehension, and effectiveness of training sessions by leveraging reporting tools and other training metrics. Verifies that all processes and content are following all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Directing the continuous improvement work by refining processes, analyzing metrics, and advocating for improvements in training.
- Prepares individuals for growth opportunities and advancement; builds internal collaborative networks for self and others. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; drives collaboration to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to foster performance improvement. Demonstrates continuous learning; oversees the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; ensures performance management guidelines and expectations to achieve business needs. Stays up to date with organizational best practices, processes, benchmarks, and industry trends; shares best practices within and across teams. Motivates and empowers teams; maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives. Provides guidance when difficult decisions need to be made; creates opportunities for expanded scope of decision making and impact.
- Oversees the operation of multiple units within a department by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Gains cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and fosters resolution of escalated issues. Communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; prioritizes and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives.
- Supervises the review of training programs by: strategizing on next steps based on collected data by evaluating the effectiveness of training pathways, curricula, and programs; monitoring training test scores, following up with other leaders, and reviewing and refining the plans/strategies to improve scores; contributing to strategic plans to improve long-term effectiveness based on metrics from survey and status reporting tools, setting expectations on the resolution of survey/data issues; and overseeing the development of strategies based on the findings of the assessment to determine learning needs.
- Supervises certain standards are implemented and met by: directing that all are performing processes in compliance with all up-to-date legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements; directing the implementation of additional and novel information and ensuring trainers provide information that is accurate, consistent, and aligned with up-to-date compliance protocols; and monitoring and providing support for the resolution of any problems regarding the development and implementation of policies and procedures, operations, and automated systems that provide information to staff and providers.
- Directs the development of training content by: championing the development of training materials (e.g., handouts, review activities, and visual aids) and implementation of training programs while designing training-related services for future training programs; collaborating with other leaders to launch new projects and partnering with Health Plan/Hospital, Medical Group, and union stakeholders for sponsorship; and directing interdepartmental, regional meetings, committees, and task forces to develop and implement programs and processes to achieve current and future goals and objectives.
- Champions continuous improvement by: partnering with other leaders on highly complex changes needed by monitoring the implementation of feedback, addressing training needs to reduce procedural deficiencies and monitoring the creation of refresher training; engaging others to work on implementing, setting, and managing the development of cutting-edge industry practices, standards, and benchmarks across the enterprise; and serving as a role model and advocate for continuous learning and improvement within the training function.
- Leads the creation of meaningful relationships with business partners with relevant stakeholders by: forming mutually beneficial relationships, and maintaining communication with other leaders, both internal and external to the company; and strategizing with senior management to ensure all customers training needs are met.
- Directs training of all internal and external stakeholders by: leveraging expert knowledge to develop and strategize novel techniques for training, ensuring trainers foster a continuous learning environment using adult learning theory, current industry practices, regulatory requirements, and leading training strategies for business and or clinical operations; and determining the best strategy for training modality for end users across various forms of media (e.g., in-person, classroom, on-site, just-in-time support, web sessions, and conference calls).
- Minimum two (2) years of experience managing operational or project budgets.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
- Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Communication, Education, or related field AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in designing and delivering training and curriculum development with a focus on instructor led training, or a directly related field, OR Minimum eleven (11) years of experience in designing and delivering training and curriculum development with a focus on instructor led training or a directly related field.

- Two (2) years of experience in health care insurance or working in a health care contact center.
- Master's Degree in Education, Instructional Design and Evaluation, Adult Learning, Human Performance, or other related field.
