Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Intern
Essential Responsibilities:
- Working under the direct supervision of a Respiratory Care mentor employed by the facility.
- Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Interns shall only perform tasks for which they have been previously deemed competent by their educational institution, including respiratory skills, organizational skills, priority setting, and sound clinical decision-making.
- Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Interns shall provide a list of tasks for which they are competent, as approved by their educational institution, to perform under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Interns must maintain an active enrollment in the work-study course described above and are expected to complete all course assignments and requirements. Any Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Intern who ceases to be currently and actively enrolled in the respiratory work study course will be ineligible to participate.
- Hours: Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Intern must commit to working a predetermined number of hours for the duration of the course.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- A high school diploma or general education development (GED) is required.
- Student Respiratory Care Practitioner Intern in good standing, currently enrolled in a Respiratory Care Program approved by the Respiratory Care Board of California.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Basic Life Support
- Successful completion of first-year clinical rotations
