Mechanical HVAC Technician II, 40 hrs
- Performs mechanical HVAC installation and repair, at assigned facilities as directed by immediate Supervisor.
- Works in self-directed way with limited supervision.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix problems, minimizing downtime and damage to mechanical HVAC systems.
- Performs maintenance on equipment like boilers, chillers, (VFD) variable frequency drives, refrigeration units, air handlers, exhaust fans, system pumps, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with equipment and appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Performs all Environmental and Safety tasks in accordance with appropriate Occupational, Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
- Documents steps or measures taken in performing tasks in accordance to EHS Regulations.
- Participates in the EHS assessment process and performing the necessary tasks or operation to achieved compliance with assessment recommendations.
- Keeps inventory of tools and shop supplies.
- Performs other duties within their field as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Ability to work afterhours, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work at elevated heights.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience industrial and commercial mechanical HVAC installation and repair.
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
- This job requires credentials from multiple states. Credentials from the primary work state are required at hire. Additional Credentials from the secondary work state(s) are required post hire.
- Journeyman Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor License (Maryland) within 12 months of hire OR Master Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor License (Maryland) within 12 months of hire
- HVAC Mechanic (District of Columbia) within 12 months of hire OR HVAC Contractor (District of Columbia) within 12 months of hire
- Master Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (Virginia) within 12 months of hire OR Journeyman Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (Virginia) within 12 months of hire
- Driver's License (from any state)
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate
- Minimum Requirement - Essential (Physical) Functions (bending, lifting, mobility):
- Lift 45 lbs.
